English Language Teaching - With toys as educational tools

Children love to play. Who can deny it? So why not this universal property to provide and promote the learning of English as well? If you prefer, you can hardly go wrong. As a child says, "Teacher, I do not want to play? Sure, it's finally possible - but this is a Force Five tornadoes in South America or" Armageddon-level earthquake in Tibet not only stop your breath while waiting ..

Toys of all types and styles are available worldwide. Why not make thismotivating them to your advantage and your young students? While this might benefit your students not-so-young people, especially students who are "young at heart" to teach those of you who might adult learners. Let's look at some "reality" or "toys" that are commonly available and could be called into play. (Pun intended)

or stuffed animals and dolls -

A perennial favorite students even my more mature adult students to enter the "awww" whenever I like Winnie the whipthe Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Tigger, Rabbit, dog, teddy bear or other stuffed animals in my menagerie. You can simulate conversations, use them to explain the position of prepositions of place and how to turn the devices, or "to" replace students in a game or activity. They (the stuffed animals) do not mind throwing around a.

or soft rubber ball or inflated -

As a class could work without at least one of them is beyond me. A student can "choose" another in a millDrill, TPR or group work, simply threw the ball to someone else. Thus, teachers do not "bias" during the activity. A ball can relay fashion are used in a game to the next signal in a sequence or learners. If you should fall or treated incorrectly, no problem, just bounces a few times or so before returning to the game. Nice, right?

car or truck and other vehicles -

Students can "travel" in the places of the district, across the roomanother or from one location on the game board to another. Children can serve as a placeholder in a board game while playing and discussions can be used as props in the role of a broader dialogue. Do not forget, through their use of practical grammar and verbs. And, oh yes, boys and girls as well. Adults? Now I have seen on my car just props or "steal" the adult learner!

O Board Games -

Youin reality only a small selection of board games when you have even a shred of imagination. Two or three will work well. Some all time favorites are those like "Scrabble", "Monopoli", "Lady" and "Chess", both alternately colored squares in the same board. Tables "create", to use their own games. Remember, a deck or two game cards. No, not for poker, but for simpler, faster, games like "War", "fish" or"21" (numbers - not Jack Black!)

Please note:

I am not a supporter of using guns or weapons of any type of fire simulations in the classroom - not even water pistols. No, bats hitting, aggressive behavior or encourage any type of realia usually in my learning environments. True, you can easily bruised aggressive behavior by some of the toys I've mentioned, but it is, or used without too much trouble. I thought of the learner, what is allowed and what is not to explain. Of theseOf course, by no means exhaustive. I'm sure many of you will come with their own local favorites available for classroom use. In fact, if you have something really special or unique that I'd like to know.
